Danke für den Hinweis und für die 4 Sterne. Du hast recht: „reinigt in jeder App“ war zu pauschal formuliert. Clean Links funktioniert nicht in jedem App-Flow gleich, weil es davon abhängt, was iOS im Teilen-Menü bzw. über Erweiterungen zulässt. Den applink.insta…-Fall habe ich notiert und ich werde die Beschreibung klarer machen. Du erreichst uns dazu jederzeit unter [email protected] oder über Discord / X (@CleanLinksApp), damit wir uns den konkreten Fall ansehen können.

App does exactly what it says it does with no extra fluff or frills. It just works and that’s pretty refreshing these days. However, to the developer: when opening a cleaned link in browser I noticed it goes straight to Safari and this can’t be changed. I use Chrome as my default browser—never touch Safari. Being able to select your browser, or bare minimum have the app use the browser the user has selected as their “default browser” in their iPhone settings seems like a simple update/implementation. My two cents!

Thanks for the review! For privacy reasons, iOS does not provide an API for apps to find out what the users' default browser is. The latest version of the app (1.0.11), now detects if Chrome is installed on the device and adds a "Open in Chrome" button.

Vielen Dank für die 5 Sterne! Es freut uns sehr, dass Clean Links hilft, sichtbar zu machen, was in QR-Codes und Links alles steckt, und unnötiges Tracking zu vermeiden.

Useful app, does what it says. My most frequent usage is sharing links so it will be helpful if the UI can be updated such that the Share button is bigger (it's so small I initially missed it first time round). Right now Open in Safari is the largest and I keep clicking that accidentally when I just want to share a clean link.

Thank you for adding the copy button I requested — it’s a great improvement! Bug: When editing a cleaned URL, entering a space shows "%20" and pressing Enter shows "%0A". After that, entering spaces, line breaks, or deletions causes unexpected characters to appear instead of behaving normally. Possible bug: When both the original URL and the cleaned URL are displayed in the app, pressing the paste button and pasting a new URL updates only the original URL — the cleaned URL does not appear. Environment: Device: iPhone 16 (iOS 26.0.1) App version: 1.0.9

I was getting tired of stripping long UTMs from news and other app links when posting on discord. At first this app seemed like it was just for QR Codes (which is also something that’s always bothered me with iPhone) but it also lets you grab copy links from apps and websites and quickly strip the parameters. Only thing that could be better is if it had the option to put the link in the clipboard in one click, but perhaps iOS prevents that? But this is still way quicker, easier and more accurate than trying to delete them manually every time. And it’s free, they don’t track you or steal your data like almost every other app seems to want to do these days. It’s a privacy advocates dream app! Thank you to the devs!

Danke für die Bewertung! Das geht tatsächlich schon, auch wenn es ein wenig Fingerspitzengefühl erfordert. :) Du kannst Bilder mit QR-Codes aus Fotos oder anderen Quellen einfach per Drag & Drop in die App ziehen.

Works good overall - I’d you to add the possibility to immediately share the link again. Just opening the iOS-native share context again.

Hallo! Vielen Dank für deine Bewertung und dein Feedback. Der Button öffnet die Seite in dem Browser, der als Standardbrowser festgelegt ist. Auf Basis deines Hinweises werden wir den Text in der nächsten Version in „Im Browser öffnen“ ändern.

Great option for QR codes, but really needs a way to prevent automatically expanding short links. This can still attribute a click to you if the original URL was targeted or shared only to you.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. You’re right that some short links require a network request to resolve. Clean Links only does that when the final destination cannot be determined from the URL alone, which is common with URL shorteners and some ad-network redirects. Those requests go directly from your device to the destination, not through our servers, and we do not log the links you clean. We also use isolated requests with no persisted cookies or browsing history, and we strip tracking parameters before and after redirects. We mention this in our FAQ under “Is this really local?” Edit: Based on your feedback, we've added an "Allow network requests" toggle in the app settings and for shortcuts. Amazing app. Just needs a whitelist option please.

I really enjoy the service this app provides. Makes it very easy to strip identifying parameters out of URLs and helps decipher URL shortener links. I also use their shortcut as one of the widgets on my Lock screen to read QR codes from the camera, and the app works very well in this regard too. Regular updates, easy to use, fast results - bravo.

Thanks for the review, and the bug report. We’ve managed to reproduced it and have fixed it in the latest app update (1.0.7).

I was looking everywhere for a safari extension that automatically strips out tracking junk from links. I searched and saw this one but it didn’t mention that it has a feature to automatically monitor your clipboard and automatically clean links! This is your killer feature and I would add an image preview for it! Great app!

What a great little app. Drop dead simple and does exactly what you need with no fuss.
